Extended Character Set

N'Ko system also includes an extended character set consisting of accented consonants. This set is used mainly to write foreign sounds that are not normally used by N'Ko speakers.

Examples:
  • ߜ߭ is used for g
  • ߜ߮ is used for gh
  • ߝ߭ is used for v
  • ߖ߭ is used for z

These extended characters are not covered in this basic tutorial, however the accents and accented vowels will be discussed in later lessons.
